The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...
McCain winning in new poll, follows trend - David Paul Kuhn

John McCain has overtaken Barack Obama in the presidential race, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released Wednesday morning. McCain leads Obama 46 percent to 41 percent among likely voters, which is outside the poll's margin of error. Reuters/Zogby had Obama ahead by 7 points as recently as mid-July.

Yahoo Buzz now open to all publishers

Yahoo's own social news offer, Buzz, just got a lot better as stories from any publisher can now be submitted and, of course, voted. Previously, Buzz only features stories, videos, images from 400 publishers but now, all content is welcomed, with the most voted pieces being able to ascend to Yahoo's website and thus get a lot of precious traffic.
